When Star Wars came to film in Ireland it captured the attention of the global spread of Star Wars fans, so much so it is now giving the tourist pilgrimage to Skellig Michael an intergalactic feel these days! The Star Wars legacy is being celebrated this year, from the 4th (May the Fourth be With You!) to 6th May for the Inaugural May the Fourth Festival.

From Ballyferriter to Portmagee and onto Skellig Michael, this 3-day festival will have something for every Star Wars fan, both young and old! Everything takes place from Friday 4th to Sunday 6th May, so clear that calendar and set your coordinates for the Wild Atlantic Way and get ready to explore the unrivalled charm of Kerry’s villages, cultural attractions, lively pubs and gift shops over the marvellous May Bank Holiday weekend!

The Festival Schedule on Friday 4th May includes Feel the Force in Ballyferriter, Cruise the Coastline, Sea Craft… Not Space Craft: Boat Flotilla, Walk Among Movie Magic: Guided Film Location Walk, Jabba the… Beehive Hut? Visit a Skywalker Style Home, From Portmagee to ‘Porg’magee: INTERDIMENSIONAL DRIVE-IN MOVIE Screening, ‘May the Fourth Be With You’ Céilí, Skellig Michael Boat Trips and Skellig Wars Tours while you can also indulge in Skelligs Chocolate while in the area!
