Travel Checklist for holidaying in Ireland

As our weather can be extremely changeable in Ireland and we can have 4 seasons in one day, check out our packing guide to holidaying in Ireland in the summer:

Good Quality Rain Gear – Ireland is not known for being luscious and green due to the amount of Sunshine we get so always be prepared!

Layering is essential – you can wake in the morning and it may be cloudy and by lunchtime it could feel like it is 70 degrees so layer up before you venture out!

Camera – There is so much to see on our beautiful Island of Ireland so don’t forget your camera!

Adaptors – The standard voltage in Ireland is 220V 50Hz. Plugs are 3 pin so you will need an adapter which can be brought in your airport before you fly out, or in an electrical shop when you arrive here.

ATM and credit cards – Most banks are open Monday to Friday from 10am till 4pm and have a bureau de change for changing currencies. You can withdraw cash from ATM machines using VISA, MasterCard, American Express, PLUS credit cards and Cirrus debit cards. Credit Cards are also widely used in Ireland in hotels, restaurants, golf clubs and shops, but it is advisable to carry some cash because some pubs and some small shops do not accept credit cards.

Documents – Make sure you have:

  • An emergency contact number of a friend of family member
  • Travel Insurance
  • Passports + Visas
  • Flight Details

Now all that is left to do is board your flight…
