Tom visited Mount Falcon Estate on the same day as Connacht Whiskey (he was very busy that day!) and thoroughly enjoyed seeing this beautiful property set just on the outskirts of Ballina, Co Mayo.

There is so much to do at Mount Falcon apart from stay there of course – activities including falconry, fishing, clay pigeon shooting, archery, cycling around the Estate and they even have their own Driving Range! Many of Ireland’s finest links courses including Enniscrone Golf Links, Carne Golf Links and County Sligo Golf Club are within an hour of Mount Falcon making it an ideal base for our next Golf or Sightseeing Trip in the West of Ireland. Mount Falcon also have their own Elemis Spa  and also a Leisure Centre on-site to ease those aching limbs after a day of sightseeing or taking on some of Ireland’s best golf courses.

The rooms at Mount Falcon Estate are very well appointed and spacious, and they also have lovely Lodges on-site as well – ideal for those longer stays for groups that want to spend a bit more time chilling out in their very own house! The Lodges are all set in different areas of the Estate – the Courtyard, the Woodland Lodges and the Lakeside Lodges give a very different but equally wonderful stay while there is of course an abundance of accommodation available in the Manor House with many Superior Rooms and Deluxe Suites available along with their Wallpool Suite & Connors Gap Suite as well.

Dining at Mount Falcon gives you many options. Their Kitchen Restaurant is the focal point of dining at Mount Falcon and is located in the original kitchen of the manor house. Originally run by the legendary Connie Aldridge, founder of the Blue Book, the Kitchen at Mount Falcon will provide a full feast of the senses for you to enjoy on your stay using only fresh and local produce. The Moy River which runs through the Estate is a source of Wild Atlantic Salmon which anglers are encouraged to “Catch and Cook“, with wild game featuring on menus in the winter months. All their meat and poultry is of local origin, with cheeses sourced locally from Connaught and Munster. For something more casual but equally enjoyable their is the Boathole Bar which offers a perfect haven to enjoy a quiet drink by the log fire and mull over the evening restaurant menu. Their sumptuous Snack Menu is served until 9pm while you can also experience Afternoon Tea here from 1pm-4pm (Booking Essential). Private Dining is also available at Mount Falcon Estate with 4 options – The “Kitchen Restaurant” , The Aldridge Suite, The Fuller Room & The Board Room.
