Alice & Tom visited the recently renovated Barrow House on Friday 9th February 2018 and we were pleasantly surprised to see the quality of the property based close to Tralee Golf Links in Barrow. Check out our Facebook Album from our visit!

Barrow House is an 8 bedroom, Georgian guesthouse on the shores of Barrow Bay in North Kerry with wild swimmers, artists, birders and outdoor loving families just a few of their fans! Of course there are now getting increasingly popular with golfers as well due to their proximity to the tremendous Tralee Golf Links. It is also a fantastic base for all the great golf courses in the South West, you can book individual rooms or book the House privately as well which is a really cool option!

Daragh McDonogh, the new owner, sat with us in the stunning sitting room at Barrow House (thank God she got that fire started eventually!!) to fill us in on the history of the property and it’s safe to say if only these walls could talk………!! Some really great stories from the days of Xavier McAuliffe, who did a magnificent job to restore and rejuvenate Barrow House, to the more quirky stories leading up to today and Daragh’s purchase of the property.

The rooms are great for a sightseeing, golf or family groups and with the delightful deck and overall feel of Barrow House it is also ideal for events and is becoming popular for weddings, even on a cold day in February we could still see why! They have a really cool cinema on the lower ground floor which creates a great chill out area too. Beside the cinema there is also a lovely restaurant area which is adjacent to a kitchen that could only be described as every chef’s dream!
